Our Inaugural *Prox-Ops* Event

Prox-what?   Explaining the name…

“Prox-Ops” is a common abbreviation for Proximity Operations, which refers to the process whereby a spacecraft intentionally maneuvers in close proximity to (and/or physically interacts with) another space object – such as a satellite, space station or celestial body.

Acknowledging how incredibly important (orbital) Prox-Ops will be to enabling the development of a sustainable in-space economy, we also strongly believe that close proximity interactions/collaborations here on Earth are an essential pre-requisite to enabling the development of a self-sustaining NewSpace ecosystem.

In the spirit of enabling these essential interactions, the Space West *Prox-Ops* events will bring like-minded people together (i.e., in close proximity to each other) and encourage them to discuss their aspirations and challenges – in relation to helping strengthen Sweden’s position in NewSpace going forward.
